Alex Kolo Announces Debut EP: “Maybe One Day”

Release Date: September 6 | Distributor: Symphonic

NASHVILLE, TN – Rising indie pop star Alex Kolo is set to release her debut EP, “Maybe One Day,” on Friday, September 6. This eagerly anticipated EP includes a trilogy of songs – “One of These Days,” “Amsterdam,” and “I’m Sorry Love U” – that tells a poignant story of unrequited love. The EP also features a bonus track, “In Circles,” which explores the experience of living with anxiety. Kolo’s co-writers include Lydia Laird and Brandon Chase; her producer is Benny Meza.

When asked about her feelings on releasing her first EP, Kolo expressed a mix of pride, anxiety, and excitement. “The songs on this EP are deeply personal and tell stories close to my heart. I hope they resonate with listeners who are experiencing heartbreak or anxiety and make them feel less alone,” said Kolo.

The writing and recording process was an emotional journey for Kolo. “The writing process was especially emotional because writing is how I tend to process my struggles.  The recording was less emotional than the writing element, but I still felt the feeling of heartbreak as I sang the more intense lyrics of ‘I’m Sorry I Love U.'”

As she looks ahead, Kolo plans to continue exploring themes of love and heartbreak in her music. She also hopes to venture into different genres while staying true to her indie pop/alternative roots.

Kolo has a message for aspiring songwriters. “When you write, it’s easy to get caught up in what you think will appeal to the radio or what’s trendy. I have always found that I write my best songs when I’m writing from my heart and not worrying about how the public will perceive it.”
